Anime and Manga started out humbly as a Japanese mimic of American Comic strips, which consequently became the novels we know as Manga. The franchise began as a humble video game based on the hobbyist joys of game designer Satoshi Tajiri. Tajiri liked to amass insects as a kid and he applied that into a game. Since that time, the game has been adapted into a series, which eventually became a smash hit in Western markets.
